Moxa debuts AI-ready x86 rackmount IPCs

Moxa Europe launches AI-ready rackmount IPCs for Edge AI. The RKP-C220 Series, featuring a x16 PCIe slot for discrete GPU cards, offers AI-accelerated performance at the edge. With robust fanless design and comprehensive I/O options, these IPCs enhance decentralised data processing and real-time decision-making capabilities.

Moxa Europe has introduced its first AI-ready rackmount industrial PCs, the RKP-C220 Series. These systems are designed to enhance AI-accelerated performance at the edge, featuring a x16 PCIe slot that supports full-length discrete GPU cards. Additional x8 and x1 PCIe slots offer flexible expansion options.

The RKP-C220’s robust fanless thermal design and high-performance processor drive optimal performance for distributed devices in Edge AI applications. According to a Markets and Markets report, AI technology is increasing the demand for decentralised data processing and real-time decision-making solutions. By reducing latency, AI at the industrial edge enables real-time data analysis, leading to improved operational efficiency and scalability.

“In a complex IIoT environment, the ability to support massive data analysis hinges on a reliable edge device infrastructure. The RKP-C220 Series is designed to meet these requirements with the capability to power your Edge AI, enabling you to build intelligent IIoT applications with complete peace of mind,” said Jonas Chen, head of x86 IPC Business at Moxa.

The RKP-C220 is developed for AI platforms to efficiently manage data cleansing and complex analysis, enabling accurate responses to user requests. It has passed the Intel Edge System Qualification test, validating its ability to run demanding AI language models with high performance, thus facilitating rapid AI application development.

Moxa’s patented fanless heat-dissipation technology ensures reliable performance by directing processor heat to an external cooling fin, enabling maintenance-free operation while running intensive AI models. The RKP-C220 Series, built around a 13th Gen Intel Core processor, offers high processing power and a wide operating temperature range. It supports comprehensive storage options, including two 2.5-inch SSD slots and three M.2 storage slots with Intel RST RAID 0/1.

Connectivity options include up to 8 LAN ports, 10 serial ports, and 2 CAN ports, facilitating seamless integration with diverse field devices and data transmission across complex networks.
